Afternoon Snack Wraps

The time between 3pm and dinner time is always difficult in our house. I want my kids to eat food, but never know how much is enough or what is appropriate. For me personally, I believe a snack should be relatively healthy, whilst giving energy and allowing them to last until dinner time. But the food also has to be appealing to my kids, otherwise they’ll end up whinging about it.

My friends over at Farrah’s sent me a selection of their Snack Wraps to help me discover snacks that worked for kids. I’ve used these Farrah’s Snack Wraps and created three snacks great for an afternoon treat.

Farrah’s Snack Wraps are available in both White wraps (which are dairy free) and Cheesy wraps (which are made with real cheese).

The Peanut Butter Muesli Apple Wrap

INGREDIENTS:
2 x Farrah’s White Snack Wraps
1/4 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy depending on your preference)
3 tablespoons muesli or granola cereal (I used granola-type cereal)
1 x large red apple

DIRECTIONS:
1. Spread peanut butter over each wrap, leave a 2cm edge free from the spread.
2. Sprinkle the muesli or granola over the top of the peanut butter
3. Peel your apple and chop into small bite sized pieces
4. Sprinkle apple evenly over muesli/granola
5. Roll your completed wrap up like a Burrito (covered at each end) and then cut in half

The Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Wrap

INGREDIENTS:
2 x Farrah’s White Snack Wraps
1/4 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy depending on your preference)
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1 large banana

DIRECTIONS:
1. Spread peanut butter over each wrap, leave a 2cm edge free from the spread.
2. Cut your banana into thin pieces and place evenly over the peanut butter
3. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the banana
4. Roll your completed wrap up and enjoy!

ALTERNATIVELY, instead of rolling it up, place another wrap over the top. Cut it in half and then place in a sandwich press. You’ll crispen up the outside and be able to cut it into slices so that the kids can eat it like a slice of pizza.

The Nutella Cream Cheese Wrap

INGREDIENTS:
2 x Farrah’s White Snack Wraps
1/4 cup Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Nutella (or other type of spread similar)
4 large strawberries (sliced)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Spread the cream cheese (or similar) over each wrap, leave a 2cm edge free from the spread.
2. Spread the Nutella over the cream cheese
3. Place your strawberries over the Nutella
3. Roll your completed wrap up and enjoy!

Thank you so much Farrah’s for making this post possible and allowing me to put together this pretty awesome post (if I do say so myself).

Just a reminder that Farrah’s Snack Wraps are available in both White wraps (which are dairy free) and Cheesy wraps (which are made with real cheese). Look out for the special Farrah’s Snack Wraps with the little monsters on them in a supermarket near you – they are RRP $5.50.
