Friday Favourites: The One With Anika Moa

After having a few weeks off thanks to the school holidays, it’s back into the swing of things. This week Chloe went back to School and TODAY Ronan starts KINDERGARTEN. Holy sh’t … that’s actually insane. So for one day a week, I’ll have the day to myself.

This first week back has been full of emotion for me as I had some pretty exciting and interesting things happen …

Don’t forget this is a LINK UP! What that means is you can share your favourite blog from the week (if you run one), or perhaps something you have read. Just scroll to the bottom.

What has been your favourite (or least favourite) thing about this week?  Check out my five things:

FAVOURITE: Anika Moa

Anika Moa (and her lovely wife / producer Natasha Utting) invited myself to be on Anika’s show. Anika has her own show on Maori Television called “All Talk With Anika Moa“. I was nervous as heck, but Anika did what she does best and made myself and Emily (from Emily Writes) feel extremely relaxed.

Can’t wait to see how the show came out. Keep an eye on my Facebook page for details next week …

3 awesome mamas so much funny! #alltalkwithanikamoa

FAVOURITE: Grapes

I love grapes, and I’m over cutting grapes up. So when I posted earlier this week about how I don’t cut my kids grapes up, and GASPED, it caused a bit of drama. I meant no disrespect, but people got offended.

You can read all about Grapegate here, and then here …

And then naturally I followed it up with 24 gaspworthy things about my life … HERE.

FAVOURITE: The Parenting View

Finally got my A into G and created a group on Facebook for parents to come and chat about all things parenting. You can be a grandparent, a step parent, a solo parent or anything in between that’s parenting related and you’re welcome to join!

No vaccination posts. No medical posts. The Parenting View is like a coffee group where you can chat about the ins and outs of parenting. Come and join the group!

FAVOURITE: Friends

When I was at the Anika Moa show, a few friends of mine showed up to surprise me and sat in the audience. I was so unbelievably chuffed that they did that. So I wanted to give a wee shout out to:

Lisa Stirling from No Filter Mum
Lisa Hays from Owl & Monkey

Thank you ladies so much – it meant the world to me that you came along.

FAVOURITE: Ronan Starting Kindy

It’s going to be hard seeing him gone for one day a week but honestly this kid needs it. He needs extending beyond what I can offer him and Kindergarten is going to do that for him.

I feel very confident in the place he is going to, and because he had Chloe ahead of him, he knows what he’s going in to.

I’m nervous, scared and EXCITED for him all at once …

Your hosts for Friday Favourites, as always, are myself (Happy Mum Happy Child), and Lisa from No Filter Mum

How it works:

  2. Click on the ADD YOUR LINK button, which is below
  3. Simply follow the instructions and post the link. TOO EASY!

Any giveaways will be deleted, and the link must point to a blog post, not just your blog. A link back to here, on your post, is always appreciated.
