Friday Favourites: The One With The Emotional Child

FRIDAY FAVOURITES

The One With The Emotional Child

This week I am back eating healthy food.  Again.  It’s a vicious cycle this life. During the week, my daughter got caught up in her emotions and couldn’t get out of it – meaning several hours of crying.  It basically defined my week because after that, I was on edge to make sure she didn’t fall back into that state.  I had to make sure she went to bed at a reasonable hour.  Didn’t drink too much water (we had a couple of accidents), and stayed in bed until the sun came out (we have Gro-Clocks).  So here are my top 5 favourites of this week.  Let me know below – what’s been your favourite thing about this week?

1. Favourite App – Snapchat

Snapchat Link

My Snapchat username is happymumnz, and this week Snapchat has kept me sane.  I follow almost everyone who follows me.  There are some dodgy-as people out there on Snapchat, so I don’t follow them haha.  When I have a question, Snapchat answers.  When I am feeling down, Snapchat supports me.  I honestly can’t thank you all enough for following me and talking with me on Snapchat.  I have made some wonderful friends through there!

2. Favourite Drink – Long White Vodka

Ok so most of you know I love Long White Vodka. I got introduced to it late last year through some work I was doing, and I was genuinely surprised at how delicious it was.  I’m not a vodka lover by any means, but this drink just hit the spot.  And it is continuing to do so.  ALSO, it has NO added table sugar – sweetened with apple juice! It comes second in our house to wine – and that says a lot!

3. Favourite Kids’ Thing – Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels Link Friday Favourites

Last year we were given a whole heap of games to review, but after too many fights, I put them away.  Cue terrible weather, and I pulled out the Hot Wheels track and it’s been a godsend.  The fights are still there, but it’s given them something else to play with at home!  If you follow me on Snapchat (happymumnz) then you will have seen us playing with it!  Just if you’re interested (which a few of you have been), you can get these type of tracks from Farmers or The Warehouse.

4. Favourite Blog – Lisasaurus’ Confessions of a Serial Apologiser

Lisasaurus

Just like Lisa, of Lisasaurus, I am a serial apologiser.  SHE KNOWS IT TOO – because she is always saying “stop apologising Maria!” haha … when I read her blog I found myself nodding along in agreement with everything she said. Click to read her Confessions of a Serial Apologiser.

5. Favourite Post – The Emotional & Tired Child

The Crying Child 01

My most read post this week was the The Emotional & Tired Child.  My girl got stuck in a wave of emotion and couldn’t get out.  It ended up being 3-4 hours that she was upset for.  Never ever seen her like that before – but I actually did sympathise.  I’ve been in that position before when you start crying about one thing, and end up crying about a million other things and forget the real reason you started crying …

What has been your favourite thing (or things) about this week?  Let me know below, and don’t forget I’m streaming LIVE on my Facebook page tonight at 8.15pm NZ time!

This is a link collaboration which we have started in the hopes that it will help all of us read some more blogs.  So this is your one-stop-shop for blogs!

Your hosts for Friday Favourites are myself (Happy Mum Happy Child), Lisasaurus, and Teacher by Trade, Mother by Nature.

If you decide you want to start writing your own Friday Favourites, you can include them here too.

To join the party, simply link to your favourite blog post.  It could be one you’ve written, or one you’ve read during the week which you really loved. Then visit a few other bloggers for a read and a chat.  A link back here on your post is appreciated ????

How it works:

  1. Find a post you’ve loved this week (it could be yours, or someone else’s)
  2. Copy the link, and then click on the ADD YOUR LINK button, which is below
  3. Simply follow the instructions and post the link. TOO EASY!

Any giveaways will be deleted, and the link must point to a blog post, not just your blog.
