The Amazing Coleslaw Recipe

This truly is an AMAZING coleslaw. We’ve used this recipe several times, and always have rave reviews about it. It’s super easy to make and isn’t too complicated. The ingredients can be bought at any supermarket.

The original recipe (and image) is by Chef John, and can be found on the All Recipes website. We have amended it slightly to suit our needs/tastes.

This recipe serves 6.

INGREDIENTS
1/2 small green cabbage, thinly sliced
1 large nashi pear, thinly sliced
1/3 cup finely sliced pickled ginger
1/4 cup sliced green onions

For the dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise (we used Best Foods Mayo)
1/3 cup seasoned rice vinegar
(Hot sauce to taste if required)

DIRECTIONS
Whisk together mayonnaise, rice vinegar, and hot sauce in a large bowl.
Stir cabbage, pear, and ginger into the mayonnaise mixture until well coated. Stir in green onions. Season with salt to taste. This is best made 1-2 hours before serving.

Note: we’ve made this before without the pear and it still tasted great
