Options: 3 compartment lunch box in 4 colours
The Haakaa Silicone Collapsible lunch box is fantastic in that it collapses. It basically doubles in size when you extend it – and is about the same size in depth as the Goodbyn Hero. The Haakaa lunch box comes with a fork / spoon attachment, but I would always worry my kid would lose that; however it is handy to have! Sadly the three compartments don’t seal individually, so you can’t empty a yoghurt into it without it leaking through out the box. It does fit a yoghurt pottle in it, so that’s one way around it. It’s great in that it collapses too – easy to store away!
I have two issues – the size is a little on the small side (in my opinion). The Goodbyn Hero is larger in capacity. AND the fact it collapses so easily can sometimes mean you will accidentally do it when there’s food in it. A few times my kids have pushed down on the lunch box and all of the food has popped out.
Because the Haakaa lunch box is silicone, I feel like it would be quite durable. Unless you were to carry an actual knife in your bag and accidentally stab or cut it…
Relatively easy to clean.
The Apple / Yoghurt Test:
YES – as I said above, you can fit a yoghurt pottle in the compartments, although it doesn’t fit snuggly. And an apple would also fit.
Can my 3 year old open it? YES
Can my 5 year old open it? YES
