Lulu Laroux is owned and operated by Marianne.  She makes and sells boutique knitwear and clothing.  There is also a beautiful range of heirloom quality gifts and photography props.  Made from the softest local yarns.

BACKGROUND
Marianne is a stay-at-home-mum to two beautiful girls who both have high health needs.  One has Bronchiectasis (which is a lung disease), and the other has moderate Autism.

She has been knitting and sewing for the last 10 years.  Self taught by watching YouTube videos, she now can’t imagine her life without it.  She finds the process very therapeutic, and can easily turn a bad day into a good one by “getting to work”.

Last year (2015) marked the beginning of a new chapter for Marianne – she decided to start selling things.  It has always been on her list of goals, so last year marked an exciting moment for her.

The name “Lulu Laroux” is derived from a nickname of her daughter, and the french word for red-haired (which one of her daughter’s has).

Because of the committment required to her daughter’s, Marianne decided to make Lulu Laroux a boutique company.  Therefore, only making small runs of a product, but using the very best quality materials she can find.

Her passion is heirloom quality knits and vintage inspired sewing. She aims to provide a product that is timeless and well made with materials that are beautiful and will last.

It is important to Marianne to use New Zealand yarns where she can.

THE PRODUCTS
Lulu Laroux have a lovely range of bonnets, overalls, wraps and blankets.  This year, Marianne plans to have a range of beautiful hand knit bassinet blankets and more baby clothing.  So be sure to follow her pages!
