We bought those clamshell sandpits from Bunnings one year and have been using them now for a while, however the sun has basically damaged them to the point where I can’t even lift it without breaking the shell. Ridiculously annoying.
So one afternoon, the kids were getting a little antsy, so I decided to put the leftover sand into an old flexi-tub (a portable bath tub that the kids used when they were babies). SUCH A HIT!
I popped something underneath one side of the tub to tilt it slightly, so that the young one could reach in, but both kids absolutely loved it. And at the end of it, it was easy to move into the garage.
There is nothing worse than a sandpit filling full of water, right!?
