Happy Father’s Day
———————————————
Dear best friend, partner in crime, father to my children:
Thank you for helping me raise our children together.
Thank you for getting up during the middle of the night, when I was severely sleep deprived, and helping settle our children.
Thank you for the never-ending cups of coffee when I was stuck breastfeeding (or even bottle feeding) our children.
Thank you for doing the grocery shopping and then making the meals, when I was too tired to do anything.
Thank you for not judging me when I screamed or cried, or left the house when I was emotionally drained.
Thank you for not telling me I pooped during child birth until a year after the fact … (I laughed when you told me but would have cringed if I’d known straight away)
Thank you for stepping up when I was diagnosed with post-natal depression.
Thank you for letting our kids do things I won’t (like letting our 2 year old cut paper with scissors) – because that is the balance that I love with us.
Thank you for taking the kids out on the weekend, so that I can have a break
Thank you for being level headed when I’m not.
Thank you for buying me wine when you do the grocery shopping.
Thank you for telling me I’m beautiful, even if I’m pretty sure I’m not (especially at 5am before coffee)
Thank you for being my best friend, and understanding that I’m not perfect. Thank you for doing your best to remain positive when I have not been at my best.
Thank you for loving our children.
Happy Father’s Day.
