We have two children – a girl and a boy. We always said “it doesn’t matter if we have two girls or two boys, or one of each” but at the end of the day you don’t know how you’ll feel about that until you’re in the situation.
Well, for this couple, they had boys. A lot of boys; 10 in fact.

I commend them on this effort – two was definitely enough for us. Personally, I think one is perfect too but 10 is next level and I bow to them for doing it. My Gran had 9 kids, and I remember being in labour the with my eldest saying “WHY DID SHE DO THIS NINE TIMES” ahaha …
Anyway … this isn’t about me.
Alexis Brett and her husband David were expecting their 11th child, and naturally would have been expecting another boy. However during a scan they were blown away at the result – they were having a girl!

For some people, the need to have a girl (or a boy) is enough for them to keep going until they have one; and I say good on them. But just like all of us, the need to make sure we’re having what we’re having was strong. I remember going to scan after scan and saying “is it still a girl?” …
Well it definitely was still a girl – they welcomed their 11th child, a baby girl.
