Shortcake Biscuits

Shortcake BiscuitsBasically I made these as biscuits accidentally.  The recipe is for Shortcake, but I rolled it out and cut them up thinking I was making Shortbread.  I do stuff like that all the time.

I give these to my 8 month old and my 2.5 year old and they love them.  The 2.5 year old helped to make them too (and was a great taste tester hehe).

INGREDIENTS 
125 grams butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons custard powder

DIRECTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.  Cream butter and sugar.  Add egg.  Add butter, sugar and egg mix to the dry ingredients.
Tip mixture onto a floured surface and roll out to 1cm thick.  Cut into small rectangles and place on a lined baking tray.
Cook in oven for 10-15 mins, or until you can see the base of the biscuits starting to brown.
