SPCA Cupcake Day
It’s that time of the year – when the SPCA asks us New Zealanders to take part in Cupcake Day – which is literally right around the corner on Monday 15 August.
SPCA Cupcake Day is the charity’s fun, community-driven annual fundraiser where cupcakes and other treats are baked and sold to raise funds for the SPCA’s ongoing protection and care of animals.
Each year more than 60,000 animals pass through the SPCA’s 46 shelters in need of food, shelter, medical treatment and assistance to find their loving forever home.
Animal lovers can register to be a ‘cupcake baker’ at www.spcacupcakeday.co.nz. In the past, schools and workplaces have joined in the fun by baking cupcakes for morning tea to help raise money for the SPCA. Last year’s event raised more than $390,000 to help animals in need and this year they are aiming to raise even more.
The SPCA kindly sent me an amazing recipe to use to help inspire you all to take part:
