FIRST NIGHT ALONE
Right now, as you’re reading this, it’s 7pm here. I’ve been in Wellington now for 8 hours and so far I’m having a blast.
If you’re wondering why I’m here, it’s because I was invited to attend (and speak at) a High Tea event to raise funds for Perinatal Depression & Anxiety Aotearoa. I am speaking along with Emily (from Emily Writes) and Leah McFall.
I have been looking forward to this time away for a while now – it’s the first time I’ve been away, over-night, from the family. This was the moment I’ve dreamed of for such a long time and I’m TOTALLY making the most of it.
So far I’ve been for a walk to the shops. Had lunch. Bought some snacks and wine … and watched movies. I’ve finally finished Jay-Jay Harvey’s book, and started on Constance Hall’s.
I’ve had a bath, relaxed, and had some wine. And lollies.
I haven’t jumped on the bed. Yet …
Actually my only complaint is that the bed is hard, and there is no fluffy duvet. I could really go for a fluffy duvet right now ….
I am loving this time alone, but by golly I do miss my family. I wish my husband was here; of course the kids but it would be quite lovely to have him here too.
PS I also realised today that I may be too old for Glassons. So many teenagers in there, and the tops seem to be getting shorter and shorter … not good for my post c-section tummy LOLOL
PPS follow me on Snapchat: happymumnz for some behind the scenes fun!
