Friday Favourites: The One With The Bad Food

Third week at school for people, which means the lunch box shamers are out and about in full force. Those people who just can’t keep their opinion to themselves. I’m not perfect, and I’m not the healthiest parent around; so sometimes my kids have treats in their lunches. I have been informed that school don’t allow treats like that, and I’m FINE with it. That’s a school policy and I am happy to follow the rules.

Don’t forget this is a LINK UP! What that means is you can share your favourite blog from the week (if you run one), or perhaps something you have read. Just scroll to the bottom.

What has been your favourite (or least favourite) thing about this week?  Check out my five things:

FAVOURITE: Lunch Box Shaming Rant

I love having a good rant. I hardly ever do it because I always worry about what others will think but this one really grinds my gears – people who lunch box shame.

FAVOURITE: Crispy Mint M&Ms

Crispy Mint M&Ms are coming to New Zealand next week! EEEK! And I got sent a special shipment to try. Although I couldn’t specifically try them, the family did and they loved them. I actually made some Chocolate Marshmallow Bites AND Chocolate Pretzels. YUM YUM YUM YUM!

FAVOURITE: Sukin Restoring Argan Oil+

I was recently treated to a bottle of Sukin Restoring Argan Oil – which is basically a skincare formula with maracuja (comes from the Passionflower plant) and rosehip oils. According to the pack, it fights the visible signs of ageing, improves skin moisture levels and; improves the texture and tone of the skin. I personally loved it. I loved putting it on at night and my skin still felt amazing the next morning.

FAVOURITE: Specsavers

I’m doing some campaign work for Specsavers, and took the kids to get their eyes tested yesterday. I might have been a bit crazy to take two young kids ALONE to get their eyes tested, but it did go better than I thought. Keep an eye on my page to read all about my experience, but for now I’ll leave you with this cute photo of Ronan in the chair:

FAVOURITE: SunRice Mini Bites

We were recently sent a few packets of these SunRice Mini Bites, and the kids have absolutely LOVED them. I did a couple of sponsored posts around them but I was genuinely impressed with them. They’re made from wholegrain brown rice, and are gluten free and have no artificial colours or flavours.

Have you written a Friday Favourites Blog? Or perhaps you just have a favourite blog of yours that you’d like to share – well you can do it here! We want to encourage everyone: bloggers, parents, human beings, to look back on the week and think positively. No matter how shit it’s been.

Your hosts for Friday Favourites, as always, are myself (Happy Mum Happy Child), and Lisasaurus.

How it works:

  1. Copy the link to a post of yours: it could be your own Friday Favourites, or one you’ve just loved
  2. Click on the ADD YOUR LINK button, which is below
  3. Simply follow the instructions and post the link. TOO EASY!

Any giveaways will be deleted, and the link must point to a blog post, not just your blog. A link back to here, on your post, is always appreciated.

Submissions open every Friday at 7am.
