We all know that trampolines are a great source of exercise.  Jumping on a trampoline builds muscle, strengthens bones, helps to develop co-ordination and so much more.

And we all know that children really are at their best when left to their own devices and using their imagination. Especially outdoors where they are getting fresh air, and exercise.

However, did you know, while at home, kids spend over 60 hours a week consuming media, and less than 60 minutes a week playing outside…. THAT’S INSANE.  Now that might not be your child specifically, but that’s a statistic (and here) we can’t ignore.

A perfect way to encourage you and your kids to get outside, is by using a Springfree Trampoline.  Springfree Trampolines are the world’s safest trampoline, and have the first outdoor interactive gaming system called tgoma – this stands for Take Gaming Outside and Make it Active.

I know that a lot of parents out there have concerns about a digital device being used in such a way, but for me I am embracing it. Technology is our future – and for older kids whose imaginations might not be what it used to be, this is perfect for them to really enjoy trampoline time.

Currently we have scheduled 30 minutes of digital device time each day (this obviously changes depending on the weather, my mood, their mood, etc etc haha), so imagine if that 30 minutes was spent on a trampoline!?  That’s a win in my book!

So along with the tgoma technology, here are 10 fun things to do on your Springfree Trampoline:

1. TGOMA GAMES
Using the special tgoma technology and app, your kids can have endless fun on the Springfree Trampoline.  Some of the games include:

  • Fruitant – angry fruit are running free and need to be stopped! By jumping, you shoot a fire ball to juice the fruit on contact
  • Alien stomp – a bit like whack-a-mole, the aliens pop out of holes and jumping stomps on them
  • Math Hopper – a particular number of objects show up and the aim is to correctly guess how many fruit there are
  • Whatzat – jump around to reveal images and sounds (great for younger kids – both my boy and girl loved this!)

2. Add Water
In Summer your trampoline really comes into it’s own – put a sprinkler underneath your Springfree Trampoline and let the kids have hours of fun bouncing around.  Just remember to make sure your tgoma device isn’t attached!

3. Hopscotch
Using chalk, your kids can draw on your Springfree Trampoline, and then jump into each square.  Gets the kids exercising, and teaches them balance and coordination.

4. Dance Party
Add music and away you go!  Fun for everyone!

5. Twister
Using chalk again, draw a series of coloured circles and play the twisted game!  Much harder when you’re trying to balance yourself on a trampoline!

tgoma Fit

This section is specifically dedicated to adults using the tgoma technology, which encourages movement and exercise. tgoma Fit has specific workouts that you can jump along to – with or without the app.  So here are my top 5 exercises to do on the Springfree Trampoline:

1. Stepping Bounce
This one works your calves and quads and is relatively easy to do (which is what I’m all about)

2. Squat Jump
A brilliant workout for your quads.  I almost couldn’t walk the next day after this – but then again, I don’t think I’ve ever used those muscles before ????

3. Butt Kick
Kick your butt!  Work those legs!

4. Fun Fit Basics Workout
This workout is 6 minutes long and consists of 7 different exercises – designed as a whole body workout!

5.  Core Workout
Another 6 minute workout designed to strengthen your core.  Perfect for my post C Section tummy, which is still a pouch haha

>> MY EXPERIENCE <<

My personal experience with the Springfree Trampoline and tgoma has been nothing but amazing.  My 4 year old was petrified of being on the trampoline to start with.  For some reason it was too much of an unpredictable situation for her, so she didn’t really want any part of it.

Using the tgoma technology really helped her relax and learn that jumping in such a safe environment was ok.

Everything in life is about balance.  Children, for the most part, will use their imagination.  However as they get older their imagination changes.  The tgoma technology combined with Springfree Trampolines is just another tool in our belt as parents to help our kids get outside and play.
