Winter Activities for Kids

Winter.  Cold, wet, dark.  Stuck at home.  All things associated with the dreaded word … WINTER.

Well it doesn’t HAVE to be bad.  Winter is a great time to wrap up warm, get loads of pillows, blankets and just blob out at home with your kids.  Check out these easy kids activities that are perfect for a winter day:

BAKING:
Cheese Biscuits
Spaghetti Sausages
Pizza Pinwheels
Chocolate Crackle
No Yeast Pizza Dough

Chocolate Chip Biscuits

ACTIVITIES:
Playdough
Fireworks in a Glass
Masking Tape Town
Indoor Picnic
Jelly Worms
Cheerio Stacking Tower
Magic Coloured Milk
Mess Free Finger Painting

If all else fails, pop a DVD on!  There’s really nothing wrong with having a few DVD days 😀 Do you have a go-to activity during a wet and wintery day?

I love these wintery ideas! With school holidays looming large I am sure we will be doing some of these for sure. I remember doing the mess-free finger painting when my five year old was a toddler, now my youngest is just the right age – so long as he doesn’t rip the bag off the window! 🙂

Some good ideas here. My winter school holidays will be busy consumed with running holiday programmes at the library. We have mask making and a story/song time for the 3-6 years and then the 7-10yrs we are going to be making spinning tops /spinning buttons
